HIV Medication
Did you know?
- HIV/AIDS medication regimens are very complicated.
- Most people benefit from help in developing a plan to take their medication.
Who can participate:
- Anyone thinking about starting or anyone starting HIV/AIDS drug therapy.
- Anyone changing their antiretroviral medicines.
- Anyone experiencing difficulties taking their medication as prescribed.
Why you should participate
- Be active regarding your health; take control of your nutritional status.
- Help yourself by learning strategies for taking medication, and also planning for possible medication side effects.
What to expect:
- You will be asked to fill out surveys, which will be used in planning for your care.
- From the survey & related conversation, an individualized plan will be made with you to help you take your medication as prescribed.
- Your plan may include many things. Some examples are: follow-up contacts, education about drug side effects and solutions, adherence devices like medisets or timers.
- Your name will not appear on any form. A special code will be made for you.
- Participation in monthly nutrition classes, one-on-one counseling and access to free vitamins.
